Multimedia at ORL

The design and construction of high-performance networks has always been a core part of ORL's research. We have always been careful to create systems and applications which make use of those networks. Large-scale networked multimedia systems are a particularly good example of how the bandwidth and characteristics of ATM networks can be utilised.

		The Pandora System was our first major multimedia project.
		Smart ATM Modules make up our current multimedia kit.
		The Medusa Applications Environment is our software platform.
		The Streams Project brings mobility to multimedia.
		The DART Project brings information retrieval to multimedia.
		Telemedia Systems Ltd is our sister company producing multimedia ATM peripherals commercially.
